Building strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter
Grace Place
A four-apartment complex is being created for single mothers and their children to find the independence and dignity. Habitat will convert a property in Devonshire into affordable housing for four families to address the lack of affordable housing in Bermuda and provide housing for women and children who would otherwise be homeless.

As of the beginning of November, 2024, we have been able to restore two of the four apartments and two families have already moved in! We await planning approval to start the major work required for the next two apartments.
Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, a property has been purchased in Devonshire by the donor for the purpose of providing affordable accommodations to these families.

Habitat will repurpose a derelict property which currently consists of 3 apartments, into four habitable apartments. Habitat will do the fundraising and management of the project, the anonymous donor will retain ownership and provide the families with affordable rent.
Our architect Akilha Swan, has created a floor plan from the existing building converting a 3 bedroom complex into a 4 bedroom complex that will accommodate two one bedroom apartments, one studio apartment and one two bedroom apartment.

It is anticipated to cost around $400,000. Fundraising has begun for this project.
