Sandra Christensen.JPG

Sandra Christensen, Executive Director

​​

Sandra has an extensive background in operations, quality control management and employee management. She is originally from Canada where she studied Advertising & Marketing and has a varied career including sales, marketing and event planning to name a few. Before moving to Bermuda, Sandra worked for Maritz Canada working onsite at Microsoft Canada as the Events Manager overseeing a team of 18 event planners across Canada.

 

Her passion for fundraising and charitable work has been ongoing throughout her career helping raise money for charities in Canada through her event management business.

 

Over the past 18 years in Bermuda Sandra has raised over $700,000 for local charities. She obtained her certificate in Nonprofit Management through the Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda and continues to hone her skills in her role as ED.

Collin Cluett, Assistant Secretary

 

Collin is the General Manager of the Restore, supporting the construction projects of Habitat. Prior to joining Habitat, Collin supported large scale construction projects in Canada through Quality Control for 6 years. Collin has a background in Civil Engineering following completion of his degree at NSCC in 2018.

Board Members

​Sheelagh Cooper, OBE - Chair

 

Sheelagh was the founder in 1992 of the Coalition for the Protection of Children, serving as chairwoman of the charity for 27 years. She has also served on the board of Habitat for Humanity since it’s inception in 2000.

 

In collaboration with the Women’s Resource Centre, Sheelagh helped bring the Transformational Living Centre to completion in 2021.

 

Born in Canada, Sheelagh get her Masters in Criminology and used this knowledge to help transform the federal prison system in Canada as well as teaching criminology at Bermuda College.

 

In 2022 Sheelagh was appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her service to Bermuda’s most vulnerable.

Buddy Rego - Director

After graduating from university, Buddy spent six years working in Hong Kong in the Precious Metal and Currency Markets. He returned to Bermuda in 1983 when he became president of Rego Realtors, Bermuda’s longest serving real estate company, founded in 1949, by his father.

 

In 2006, the company was invited to join the prestigious Sotheby's International Realty network. In 1992, he founded Turks and Caicos Realty, which also later became affiliated with the Sotheby’s network. Buddy and the company have been involved in the development of many of Bermuda’s well known residential neighborhoods, including single family homes and condominiums. They continue to do so today.

James B. Butterfield - Director

 

Jim Butterfield commenced his career working as a Salesman at Butterfield & Company Ltd. from 1975 to 1980 then moved to the Bermuda Cement Company. Jim and George, his older brother purchased the business from their father in 1982 after it burned to the ground. It was the time to write a new chapter for the Company. He has grown the company into the dominating wholesaler in Bermuda today. From Managing Director Jim transitioned into his role as CEO and through several mergers and acquisitions. Jim is also a former Olympian and Ironman triathlete.

Jim attended Ridley College in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. He then moved to Boston as a student at Northeastern University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

 

Now retired, Jim works for various Charities: Salvation Army, Sloop Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and does some Philanthropic work within the community.

Akilah Swan - Director

​

 

Akilah Swan is a creative director with over 20 years of professional experience in architecture and design. She is the Founder and Principal Designer of AINA CURATED, a boutique architecture and design studio established in 2020 and recognized for its collaborative, design-led approach.

 

Trained both internationally and locally, Akilah has led complex renovation, restoration, and new-build projects across a broad range of scales and budgets. Her professional background includes senior roles with established architecture firms in Bermuda, Boston, and Toronto, where she developed extensive expertise in project management, design leadership, and stakeholder coordination.

 

Akilah brings a strong commitment to governance, community impact, and professional service through her board and advisory roles. Her work reflects a sustained focus on sustainable design, heritage preservation, and equitable access to well-designed environments. She contributes strategic insight, disciplined creative leadership, and collaborative problem-solving to every board on which she serves.

Edward Fox - Project Director

​

With a diverse portfolio of engagements involving global corporations, governments, and state-owned enterprises, Ed Fox brings a deep understanding of project execution, compliance, and strategic transformation.

 

As the Senior Project Professional in the Bermuda Government’s Office for Project Management and Procurement (OPMP), Ed is responsible for providing professional advice and guidance across Ministries along with program and project training and development, where aligning project execution with government priorities and performance targets is key.

 

Ed's credentials include globally recognized project management methodologies. He is a certified Construction Manager whose work supports the same core principles that underpins Habitat for Humanity’s mission: when systems are built thoughtfully, families and communities are better positioned to thrive.

 

Ed’s philanthropic philosophy centers on the belief that

“Compassion is a necessary component of altruism;” and “Working together toward common goals is the ultimate solution.”

 

His career stands as an example of quiet leadership and sustained contribution—building systems, supporting people, and helping communities. Serving on the Executive Board, he brings this mindset into every engagement with Habitat for Humanity Bermuda, its mission, and most importantly, the people we serve.

Paige Cluett, Treasurer

 

Paige is a Senior Associate at EY Bermuda with a focus on international tax advisory and compliance in various sectors and markets across multiple jurisdictions. Paige graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2023 from Dalhousie University followed by a Master of Accountancy from the University of North Alabama in 2024.

Grace Djeric - Director

 

Grace Djeric has called Bermuda home for the past 13 years, developing a deep connection to the island and its community. With a background in finance and economics, she has been involved with Habitat for Humanity Bermuda for the past five years as both a volunteer and board member. Volunteering has long been an important part of Grace’s life. She is grateful for the opportunity to take part in Habitat’s mission and to support its work in the community that has welcomed her so warmly.

Terry-Lynn Griffiths - Director

 

Terry-Lynn Griffiths was appointed to the Habitat of Humanity Board of Directors in September 2018. She is a qualified Barrister and Attorney, Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Public and is an active Member of the Bermuda Bar Association. She obtained her Bachelor Sciences Degree from the University of Western Ontario a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of London and obtained her Legal Practice Course with Commendation from the University of Leeds.

 

She is currently employed as a Litigation Attorney with reputable law firm in Bermuda. She specializes in all areas of civil litigation and has represented clients in the Employment and Labour Relations Tribunal, the Magistrates’ and the Supreme Courts. In terms of the expertise she brings to the Habitat Board, Terry-Lynn’s experience in representing clients in residential and commercial landlord tenant disputes is particularly relevant, as is her experience in representing clients in complex construction disputes.

 

Terry-Lynn has also assisted victims of domestic violence with obtaining Domestic Violence Protection Orders, an important area of her work especially given the rise in the number of domestic violence cases in Bermuda. Terry-Lynn is particularly passionate about ensuring that women have access to the legal resources they require in order to secure the necessary protections from all forms of abuse, including physical violence, financial and emotional abuse.

 

Terry-Lynn was born and raised in Bermuda and thoroughly enjoys contributing to the meaningful work and community outreach currently being spearheaded by Habitat and its amazing volunteers.

William Cooper - Director

 

William (Will) Cooper is a Director in the Bermuda corporate department of an international law firm headquartered in Bermuda.  Will’s practice covers all aspects of Bermuda corporate law, with a focus on insurance, investment fund and investment business law and regulation.  Will received a BA (Hons.) from Queen’s University in 2009, an LLB (Hons.) from King’s College London in 2013 and an LLM (Distinction) in professional legal practice from the University of Law in London in 2014.  Will was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2015 and is registered as a Barrister and Attorney, Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths in Bermuda. Will has years of experience acting as a director of Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda and various other companies. 

David Braddock, P.E. - Director

 

David is a licensed engineer with experience in Bermuda’s construction sector. He began his career in Bermuda in 1980 as a Site Engineer with SeaLand Construction following his graduation from University in UK.

In 1983 he was recruited by a Connecticut, US based diving company to manage their Design and Construction Department where he carried out design, construction and inspection of underwater structures across the USA. This also allowed him to pursue his professional registrations in the United States where he licensed as a Registered Engineer and became a member of the American Institution of Civil Engineers.

 

Upon his return to Bermuda in 1987 he has played a pivotal role in numerous SeaLand Construction projects, encompassing bridges, power plants, correctional facilities, hotels, and residential developments.

In 2003, Mr. Braddock formed ECM Services to offer building consultancy expertise, where he continues to oversee management, estimation, and inspection of diverse renovation, restoration, and new construction initiatives throughout the Island.

Clodagh Somers

 

Clodagh Somers is a Senior Architect with OBMI here in Bermuda. She is originally from Dublin, Ireland where she completed her bachelor’s in Architectural Science, as well as a Masters in Architecture, and Professional Diploma in Architecture, all from University College Dublin, Ireland. She previously worked in London and the south coast of the UK, working globally for over eight years before moving to Bermuda. She specializes in residential and hospitality projects, with a keen interest in multi-unit developments and single-family homes. 

 

She has recently joined the Board of Habitat for Humanity and is eager to get started, helping to drive forward the mission, improving the built environment and lives of those in need, and giving back back to the society that has welcomed her so warmly.
