About Ruaha, Tanzania

Known for its diverse landscapes of savannah, mighty baobab trees, miombo, rocky hills, kopjes and the Great Ruaha River itself; Ruaha is also home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, including some of the largest populations of elephant and lion left anywhere in Africa. A birder’s paradise; more than 500 species of birds. Representing a biodiversity transition zone between southern and eastern Africa, many species overlap and crossover resulting in a unique wildlife display.

Tanzania is large and geographically diverse country located in East Africa with a long coastline along the Indian Ocean and within it's borders are parts of Africa's three largest lakes. It has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world along it's coast or around the island of Zanzibar, the highest mountain in Africa , Kilimanjaro and the highest concentration of animals and birds in world renowned parks such as the Serengeti (famed for the annual migration of zebra and wildebeast), Ngorogoro Crater, Selous and Ruaha.

About the Safari Camp

7 spacious tents have been incorporated onto the Ikuka escarpment with fantastic views over Ruaha National Park. The interiors comprise of white quartz from the escarpment itself along with other locally and sustainable sourced materials. The rooms have 24 hour electricity, fans and hot water as well as large super-king beds, a spacious bathroom area and a lounge area complete with comfortable leather seating leading out onto large private balconies. There is a communal swimming pool and three of the guest rooms have their own private plunge pools.

About the Prize

The winner of this once in lifetime trip have a few options to choose from. All food and beverages, taxes and gratuities are included in the prize as well as unlimited Safaris with their highly skilled team of guides. You will also receive a $2,000 travel voucher with Trip Travel to book your flights to Tanzania.

Please note the additional night prices have been discounted by the owners.

 

High season

July 1-Oct 30

3 nights free. Additional nights $1,600 per/night for 2 people ( includes 18% VAT & other taxes ).

 

Mid season

June 1- June 30

Dec 19- Jan 6.

4 nights free. Additional nights $1,280 per/night for 2 people ( includes 18% VAT & other taxes ).

 

Low Season

Nov 1 - Dec 19

Jan 6 -March 15

5 nights free. Additional nights $1,100 per/night  ( includes 18% VAT & other taxes ).

These discounted prices have been extended to the winner until March 15, 2026. The prices are going up June 2025, but they will honour these rates until March 15, 2026.

 

These do not include Park Fees (TANAPA) which are $75 per person per night or local airfares or other transportation costs to get to Ruaha but the team at Ikuka are willing to assist with making local flight bookings or providing assistance in anyway they can with suggestions as to other destinations within Tanzania (such as stays at the coast or on some of the islands such as Zanzibar and other parks that can be visited such as the Serengeti etc)

 

Other activities that are available at Ikuka are guided walks or fishing with our staff but incur modest additional park fees, or depending on the season, balloon rides which are operated by a third party but typically operate during the high season.

​

The airstrip in Ruaha is called Msembe and the Ikuka team will be there to greet you and provide your transport to Ikuka which is approximately 45 minutes away. Your safari experience starts at the airstrip.

 

The team will do their best to accommodate your preferred dates of travel, but  booking will be subject to availability, particularly in the high season.
